About the book “PAPERCUT”
More and more the design world is turning away from digitization and once again embracing the imperfections of handmade, craft-based practices. Written and collated by noted papercraft illustrator Owen Gildersleeve, Paper Cut offers a unique perspective into this burgeoning field of contemporary illustration. Featuring astonishing works from twenty-five of the world’s top papercraft illustrators, this collection also contains in-depth interviews and rarely seen behind-the-scenes photography, which reveal the artists’ motivations and working techniques. Contributors include Rob Ryan, Yulia Brodskaya, Jeff Nishinaka, Andersen M Studio, Chrissie Macdonald, and Kyle Bean.

On Friday, July 11, volunteers and collaborators of the Rego Park Green Alliance celebrated the completion of the first three dimensional underpass art installation by the non-profit group, at 63rd Drive, between Alderton and Austin Street. Part of the Underpass Art Movement NYC, this is not just a mural, but a gallery that is designed to be swappable with future works of art. (Photos taken by Yvonne Shortt)
63rd Drive Underpass Mural in Rego Park Queens, New York
I created the design and stencils for the mural on 63rd Drive in Queens for Underpass Art Movement NYC organized by Rego Park Green Alliance. They are creating a movement of change surrounding underpasses in Queens working with communities to document & transform.
Gallery panels are installed on the wall and exhibit photographs taken by the people in the community.
